I plan to do a number of posts to help us all get ready for Thanksgiving, especially to take advantage of the bounty of foodstuffs in our “backyards” — autumn vegetables, local premium wines, cheese, and meats. Check out my recent post on where to find fresh turkeys in Bucks. We’ll also write about pairing local wines with local food and interesting holiday dishes using local ingredients. And for those of you who don’t feel like cooking this year, I’m going to do a little research into Bucks County restaurants who are putting on Thanksgiving feasts.
To start us off, the Bucks County Foodshed Alliance is hosting a tasty event this Wednesday, November 4th, “Savoring Bucks County Flavors at Your Holiday Table.” Local chefs will prepare festive holiday dishes using ingredients from local Bucks County farms. Participating chefs will be: Deb Croll, former pastry chef at Hamilton Grill Room and Côté & Co.; Linda Jacobs, Soup to Nuts Caterers; Karen McGinn, Heaven On a Plate Personal Chef Service; and Michael Kanter, Sweet Lorraine’s in Peddler’s Village. There will even be live music by Gareth Kear, free drawings for a Market Gift Basket and Market Buck$. The event is FREE and open to the public. See you there!
