Apple Pie

The coming weekend looks delightful—partly sunny and in the 70’s. Perfect for planting herbs, drinking wine, and watching a good parade.

Rainbow flag_PRIDE Week_cropIt’s PRIDE Week! Come out this week to celebrate the wonderful diversity of our community. PRIDE Week officially began last Sunday with the unfurling of the rainbow flag (right on Starbucks, in downtown New Hope) and continues through this Sunday. For the first time in history, the Annual NHC Pride Parade will kick off in Lambertville and march across the bridge into New Hope. It seems fitting to include a bridge crossing this year since the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge is marking its 200th anniversary of its’ opening. The parade begins at 11:30 am in Lambertville. For more information, go to the website here.

The RaPoe at the Ravenven has been working hard over the past month re-imagining and renovating their restaurant. The wait is over. The Poe Bistro & Lounge will open tomorrow, Thursday, May 15. Reservations are strongly recommended. Call them at 215.862.2081.

Get that herb garden going this weekend with three local herb plant sales. On Saturday, the Tamanend Park Herb Gardening Club holds their annual herb plant sale from 10 am t0 4 pm, and again on Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm. Pre-order to ensure getting the plants you want. Click here for a list and here to pre-order.

In West Amwell, NJ (just north of Lambertville on Route 29), the Delaware Valley Unit Herb Plant Sale will take place at the Holcombe Jimison Farmstead Museum on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, and on Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm. For further details call 609.731.8821 or email Donna Baumgartner.
