Bucks Food Calendar: July 27, 2015

We may be in the thick of summer — in terms of calendar and humidity — but if you’re a fan of seafood or burgers, and sitting outside sipping a summery drink, there are plenty of places to go in Bucks and nearby.

Come get your shellfish! When I took a good look at the calendar I realized just how many seafood specials we’ve got going this summer. Where shall I start?

The Stockton Inn is heaven for crab lovers right now with their Crab Lovers Feast. The six-course tasting is inventive and delicious. The annual Jersey Shore Dinner is back! Hamilton’s Grill Room in Lambertville puts together this great dinner every year offering Fresh Jersey Tomatoes with Garlic, Basil Oil, Steamed Mussels, Littleneck Clams, Half of a Steamed Maine Lobster, Chicken Thighs, Sweet Sausage, Red Bliss Potatoes, Cole Slaw, Jersey Corn on the Cob and Homemade Peach Pie with Whipped Cream, all for $35 (plus tax and tip). The dinner is this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, and on August 25 – 27. Reservations are highly recommended because they usually sell out. Reserve online or by calling 609.397.4343.

The Thursday night Clam Bake is back! The new owners of the Logan Inn (who took over in April) know a good thing when they see it – or taste it – and the weekly clam bake is on again. The menu: Lobster, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Corn, Potatoes and Chicken Wings (items subject to change) all for $29. Reservations are recommended. Call them at 215.862.2300.

Meat anyone? If you’re more into meat than seafood (like my husband), there’s a Burger Night almost every night of the week around Bucks. On Mondays, stop by the Wycombe Publick House for $2 off their great burgers (my fav: The Wrightstown – crumbled bleu cheese and bacon on top). The Continental Tavern in Yardley offers half-price burgers also on Mondays. On Tuesdays, head over to the Carversville Inn for Locals Hamburger Night. On Wednesday evenings, Fran’s Pub in New Hope does a Steak Night, and it’s Rib Night at the Fireside Smokehouse in Southampton. Hungry yet?

Here’s what you’ll find at area farmers’ markets: Basil, beets, bok choy, broccoli, broccoli rabe, cabbage, carrots, celery, chives, cilantro, sweet corn, dill, eggplant, fresh garlic, green beans, fresh onions, green peppers, cut herbs, kale, leeks, lettuce, mint, mushrooms, napa cabbage, new potatoes, oregano, parsley, peaches, potatoes, radishes, rosemary, sage, snap peas, Swiss chard, summer squash, tatsoi, thyme, tomatoes, zucchini and more.
