Back-to-school season has arrived. It’s always a bustling time of the year, so sometimes it’s hard to find a spare moment for fun. As a recent graduate of Delaware Valley University, near the center of Doylestown, I’m surprised at how much goes on in Bucks County, even at the end of summer. Here’s what’s happening this week.
There will be a new monthly event starting on Monday, August 31 at Applebee’s in Doylestown called “Dinner with the Doc.” From 7-9 pm, enjoy a complimentary dinner and learn about this month’s wellness topic. Space is limited so advanced sign up is required. These events will be held on the last Monday of the month.
Another event on Monday which focuses on wellness is the “Gluten Free/Healthy Living Support Group” at Medicine in Balance in Langhorne, from 7-9 pm.
The group started as a gluten-free support group, but it’s evolving into a gathering of individuals who want to learn how to eat more healthfully and live more balanced lives. They share ideas and resources, and everyone is welcome to this free event. Call 215.741.1600 for more information.
Join the United German Hungarians in Bensalem for a Schnitzel Night at the club, every first Wednesday of the month. Dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children, dessert is available for purchase and there is a fully stocked cash bar.
The meal includes Schnitzel (pork), red cabbage, and spaetzle (dumplings). Reservations aren’t necessary but if you’re planning on bringing a large group, call Kathi Galgon at 215.542.0868.
Too busy to make dinner this week. Explore some of the many locals’ nights where you can get a good meal, for a good price.
