The weather forecast is a little mixed this weekend but so what? Do your outdoor eating on Saturday and your indoor eating on Sunday! A lot going on – I know I say that every weekend – but really. I mean it. A-Day in Doylestown (“Get yer milkshakes!”), Shad Fest in Lambertville (“Get yer bony fish!”), a couple of local farmers’ markets, wine tasting classes, and lots of firehouse breakfasts and church suppers.
What’s coming up this week? Newtown Restaurant Week begins on Sunday and goes through to April 29th. Fourteen Newtown restaurants are offering a mininum of three courses for $25. The specially priced prix fixe menu will consist of an appetizer, soup or salad; main course; and dessert. To preview menus, visit www.allaboutnewtown.org and follow the Restaurant Week link. Participating restaurants include: The Brick Hotel, Cafe Con Leche, Dolce Carini, Florentino’s, Green Parrot, The Grotto, La Nuova Vita, La Stalla, Oishi, Piccolo Trattoria, Rouget, The Saloon, The Temperance House and Vecchia Osteria.
Dining Out For Life is this Thursday, April 29th. The annual event raises money for AIDS in a rather painless way. Eat out at one of your favorite restaurants and one-third of the food bill is donated by the participating restaurant for local services in the fight against AIDS . In Bucks County, these generous establishments are participating: Bowman’s Tavern, Harlans Restaurant & Cabaret at The Nevermore Hotel, Poco’s Restaurant, Rick’s Restaurant, Siam at Black Walnut, Siam Cuisine Thai Restaurant, The Raven, Thyme on the Delaware, Vintage Grille, and The Washington House.
