Despite the nasty weekend weather we had, spring IS here. And that means the Bucks County Food Calendar is filling up fast with lots of great foodie events. Check out what’s happening in Bucks County this week, like the annual Taste of Doylestown event, a tasty game dinner with wine, and beer from a well-known brewery.
Burger night. In need of a burger, and fast? No need to do the drive-through at McDonald’s, instead, check out Burger Night at McCoole’s Red Lion Inn, where the burgers are $6.99 on Tuesdays. The inn offers burgers for that price all day, and you can try any of their flame grilled offerings like GMO-free Angus beef, hormone-free grilled chicken breast and roasted portabella mushroom.
Pizza with flair. Executive Chef Hunter Stagg of Hotel du Village in New Hope is the next “Guest Pizzaiolo” in Liberty Hall Pizza’s series where guest chefs take over the Lambertville pizzeria’s wood-fired brick oven for a night to create their own pizzas.
On Tuesday, April 12 diners can try out two pizzas by Stagg: “Honey’s Pie” topped with San Marzano Tomatoes, Fennel Salami, Nduja (Calabrian-styl
Steak night. If you have been craving a steak, head to Fran’s Pub in New Hope for their weekly Wednesday steak specials. On Wednesday, April 13, it’s $25 for wedge salad and your choice of one of their 14 oz. steaks with mashed potatoes. Or, get two wedge salads and a $20 oz. porterhouse steak with mashed potatoes. Nightly drink specials will be offered at the table, and happy hour is from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Call 215.862.5539 for more information.
Got game? Enjoy a Game and Wine dinner with live jazz this Wednesday, April 13 at Schultheis’ Carriage House in East Greenville, PA (about 30 minutes from Central Bucks). The dinner begins at 6:30 pm. Call 215.679.7700 to reserve your seat. Each course is paired with a different wine. Here’s the menu (wow):

Taste of Doylestown. You know Doylestown is a hub for community organizations and businesses that care about their own. Doylestown is also a great place for food, which is why this year, the Taste of Doylestown event returns on Thursday, April 14 from 6 – 9 pm.
The event will be held at the historic Doylestown Fire House, with an art theme this year, partnering with the Philadelphia Museum of Art to kick off their Inside Out art exhibition in Doylestown. Tickets are still on sale for $30 in advance here, and $35 at the door, if they are still available.
