Hopefully you had the chance to thank some of the men and women who have served our country over the weekend, since Armistice Day, or Veterans Day, was this past Saturday. The good news is, you can thank a veteran or do something nice for those who fought for our freedom any day of the week. And this week, you can dine with a veteran as they enjoy free meals and discounts all over Bucks County.
There’s more this week, but you’ll have to keep scrolling to see all of the events and food specials near you…
Winter CSA Shares
Want access to fresh fruits and veggies, even in the winter? Consider signing up for a winter CSA share from Pennypack Farm and Education Center in Horsham, PA (which is just a little bit outside Bucks County lines). They only have six CSA shares left.
Winter will have lots of greens, including Lettuce, Bok Choi, kale, chard, arugula, and spinach, among others. Greens in the winter taste incredibly sweet because the cold concentrates their sugars. You can pick up your CSA share anytime between 12 and 7 pm on Wednesdays or Thursdays. A mini winter share for four units costs $336 and a regular share for six units costs $456. Sign up for your share here.
Many other local CSA farms will be offering winter shares. Stay tuned and we’ll let you know who is doing it. In the meantime, check out our Community Supported Agriculture Farms page, and contact your favorite CSA to see if they will be providing winter shares.
