There’s a lot to look forward to this week, and even if the first day of spring is going to be a little snowy, the end is sight (I know, I know. I’ve said this before.)
Delaware River Towns Restaurant Week
Make your reservations, the Delaware River Towns Restaurant Week is here, continuing through March 22. A $35 prix fixe fine-dining menu or a $25 prix fixe casual-dining menu will be offered by restaurants from Washington Crossing to Frenchtown during the five-day celebration of the Delaware River Towns’ best eateries
Holy Ravioli! Celebrate National Ravioli Day
March 20th is National Ravioi Day, and what better way to celebrate a foodie holiday than with local restaurants’ spin on a beloved Italian dish. Here’s a list of ravioli-friendly restaurants and stores in Bucks County – yum!
- The Pineville Tavern is offering complimentary packages of ravioli to take home for everyone who purchases ravioli throughout the day.
- Pappardelle’s Pasta in Newtown has hundreds of dried kinds of pasta — including ravioli!
- Francisco’s On The River in Washington Crossing has a wonderful Italian menu, featuring ravioli stuffed with spinach or lobster. Call for availability and menu information: 215.321.8789.
- Vecchia Osteria in Newtown has ravioli di mamma on their menu (homemade ricotta filled ravioli topped with spinach & fresh mozzarella in a light pink cream sauce). Contact the restaurant for menu changes.
Cafe Alessio in Doylestown has nice homemade ravioli on their menu last time we checked.
You know what goes well in raviolis? Cheese. And here’s where you can find some amazing cheesemakers in both Bucks County and New Jersey, including Fulper Farm which makes delicious ricotta.

The 5th Annual Bucks Bacon & Beer
Sunday, April 22, Noon – 4 pm
Hard to believe but this year will be the 5th Bucks Bacon & Beer! This popular annual event is co-sponsored by Bucks County Taste and Triumph Brewing Company, and will feature bacon, sausage, artisanal cheese, and other delectable foods from local butchers and purveyors, including local breweries and distilleries in Bucks County and nearby.
Triumph Brewing Company will be making a special beer for the occasion. Take your chance on a raffle with delicious prizes (hint: do you want even more bacon?) and enjoy live music.

The Farm Cooking School – Save the date for a five-course meal sourced from Roots to River Farm and other nearby farms. Chefs Ian Knauer and Shelley Wiseman will also demonstrate some of the dishes before we eat! Saturday, April 7, 6 pm. REGISTRATION OPENS THIS WEEK.
Hamilton’s Grill Room (Sunday, May 20) We’re thrilled to be back at Hamilton’s Grill Room (it’s been 2 years!) this spring. Weather permitting, we’ll be out in the courtyard where chef Mark Miller will create a memorable meal just for us. Mark your calendar!
