Over the weekend, I like to plan our meals for the upcoming week. I do this to avoid spending extra money (and to prevent myself from wandering into the nearest pizza place…).
In Bucks County this week, there are plenty of summer specials for those that want a nice meal for a reasonable price. The big highlight this week is the return of the Jersey Shore dinner at Hamilton’s Grill Room in Lambertville. Now pencil that into your own meal plan!
Morrisville Restaurant Week. The Morrisville Restaurant Week continues this week, ending on Saturday, July 22. This is the first time the town is hosting a restaurant week. Seven restaurants are participating including: Café Antonios, Dacey’s Pub, Salute Ristorante, Michael’s Restaurant and Lounge, Concerto Fusion, Anthony’s IV, and LaVilla. Updates on the restaurant week and its specials can be found on its Facebook page.
Jersey Shore dinner. The very popular Jersey Shore dinner of Hamilton’s Grill Room in Lambertville returns this week! It’s like a trip to the shore without all the hassle. The dinner runs July 18 – 20 with a special prix fixe menu including everything from sliced Jersey tomatoes, steamed mussels, ½ steamed Maine lobster, Jersey corn on the cob, and more. It’s $40 plus tax and gratuity. Reserve online with Open Table or call 609.397.4343.
Did you know? There are a few other local spots serving up lobster specials all summer long. Also, across county lines, Hatboro’s Old Mill Restaurant is celebrating its first birthday with Maine Lobster specials, a lobster broil, and more – offered Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through August.
Head to our food calendar to see if there are any other location near you with delicious lobster specials. Don’t forget the butter!
Christmas in July beers. The Continental Tavern is celebrating Christmas in July with some holiday brews on tap beginning this week. The tavern will have Troegs Mad Elf, Anchor Steam Christmas Ale of 2016, and Sly Fox Christmas Ale on tap starting Wednesday, July 19.
LMT Dog Park benefit. Enjoy an evening of culinary delights from some of Bucks County’s favorite restaurants at the Rose Bank Winery — and all for a good cause! All proceeds to benefit the LMT Dog Park, a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization, through the Lower Makefield Community Foundation.
Participating Restaurants include: Guru’s Indian Cuisine, Vecchia Osteria by Pasquale, Jules Thin Crust, Joey G’s, Ota-Ya, and Cairo Cakes. The event is $50 per person, or you can reserve an entire table for $500. There will be a gift basket auction, a 50/50 raffle, and live music. This is a family friendly event, but those under 21 will not receive the complimentary glass of wine and can’t purchase wine.
On the radar…
PYO blackberries! Peace Valley Winery opens the fields for pick-your-own blackberries this Saturday, July 22, at 10 am. Don’t be surprised if there are no ripe berries left by the end of the weekend. The crop is just getting started and more will ripen as the weeks progress. Price for berries is $3 per pint, same as last year. Also there are no pick-your-own vegetables this year at the winery.
